Ian Tomlinson Was Unlawfully Killed - Inquest Jury

Whitehall McDonalds 2000
Ian Tomlinson was unlawfully killed by a Metropolitan Police officer at the G20 protests, an inquest jury has said.
The 47-year-old collapsed and died after he was hit by a baton and pushed to the ground by PC Simon Harwood at the protests in London on 1 April 2009 - BBC link.
Perhaps now they will introduce psychological profiling for riot cops.  Writing as a veteran of many protests and riots, it is apparent to me that many officers are decent, hard-working, courteous people.  And many others are bordeline psycopaths out for a ruck; as impressive as a bunch of beered-up right-wing boot boys.
Let us all hope that the decent police officers will police the thugs amongst their midst.  As a former British infantry soldier - I expect they will.  But if they dont I shall be there to witness and organise.  We are the connected generation.  You are being watched.  Time to decide.

  1. same story intro but from inspector gadget:
"The jury at the inquest into the death of Ian Tomlinson, the man who was five times over the drink-drive limit with a diseased liver and a heart complaint who died after being pushed over by a police officer in London, has delivered a crushing blow to those who constantly claim that we live in a ‘police state’ by returning an unlawful killing verdict."
My money is on CPS dragging this out for a few years and then charging him with breach of health and safety regulation a la JCDM

  2. Hmm -gotta be fair Meltdown. It is shameful; but my background is infantry and we kill people. The police have a tighter line to tread; and rightly so. I have several friends in the police, ranging from ex-SAS beat bobbies (you wouldn't want to out-run them (LOL) to DCI's. I've no drama with the police, mate. I just believe the psychos should be screened out of the riot cops.
